The Story of Kudanil Explorer
1978
Kudanil Explorer started life in 1978 as a safety standby vessel (SSV), a specialized ship designed to provide emergency support, rescue, and evacuation assistance to offshore facilities, platforms, and rigs.

Decades later...
In 2016, Remi and Thibaud of Kudanil Marine Services Private Ltd transitioned from the oil industry, selling their petroleum-related assets and converting one of their former exploration vessels into an expedition yacht.

2016
With a shared passion for Indonesia’s remote waters and lands, and a family legacy in marine operations, Remi, along with his nephew Thibaud Epstein, oversaw the full conversion of the ship beginning in 2016.

2018
The transformed Kudanil Explorer launched, blending rugged capability with refined comfort to explore Indonesia’s most remote waters.
Today
With a pedigree firmly rooted in Indonesia and unrivalled knowledge of remote expeditions, the Kudanil Explorer has journeyed across the archipelago from Papua in the east to Sumatra in the west, leaving no waters unexplored. Fueled by an adventurous spirit, it stands today as a leading force in Indonesia’s marine tourism.

Together with our handpicked crew of 21, many of whom have worked together for years, our team shares a passion for Indonesian hospitality.

We share our hospitality and care by giving you a warm welcome as you return to the Kudanil from a surfing adventure, by handing you a bottle of water that we’ve packed away on a hike up a volcano, or by giving you a helping hand when step out of a tender onto the soft sands of a secluded beach.

Together, we’re all part of a secret explorers club who share adventures that create lifelong memories and bond us in a way that few have the chance to experience.
